When I was a child I heard voices
They kept telling me it's time to fade
I could not hide, nor run away
Inside my head they were telling me to fade away
When I was a child I heard voices
They kept screaming inside my head
I soon had learned that I had no power
I could barely turn my eyes away
I was hopeful for what was ahead
But my voices kept telling me that I would fade away
I could not see the life ahead
But I knew that no lie was stuck inside my head
When I was a child I heard voices
No good they ever had to say
For hours they would tell me that I would fade away
We are all just pictures in a frame
When I was a child I heard voices
Told me stories of what lied ahead
They would change my ways
Turned me into a better man I am today
At times I let the voices in
In hopes to numb the pain
I wasn't giving in
Just resting
Just resting to save my skin
When I was a child I heard voices
They kept telling me it's time to fade
I soon had learned I had few choices
That's the lesson that made me who I am today
