    Mighty Human Race (Andriy Z. - AKA - A. Thorne) ©

I've lived for eons, beyond all count,
When dragons roamed and ruled about,
    When kings ascended regal thrones,
I saw it all, those grandiose zones.

I've watched as presidents rose and fell,
    Celebrities, empire builders as well,
Experienced both joy and bitter strife,
And now I ponder, reflecting on life.

I wonder what the gods might see,
    When they gaze upon humanity,
Do they spy towering spires to the skies,
And marvel at our planes that fly?

Or perhaps they view with saddened eyes,
As rockets soar, we fuel demise,
For what if what they see instead,
Is all the hurt and pain widespread?

How far the mighty human race has fallen,
Our selfish ways a stain upon our face.
What if our greed and evil ways,
Have left us lost in this dismal maze?

Let us aspire to rise again,
To be our better selves, to mend,
To rebuild, to heal and to sustain,
A brighter future for all to gain.
